Parents
Parents Responsibilities
At LOHBA, we believe that parents play an essential role in their child’s success.
Parents' responsibilities include:
Ensuring children arrive on time (by 8:30 AM) and
attending regularly for consistent learning.
We are required to have all parents sign in and out for pickups and drop offs each day. A sign in and out sheet, pen and clock are in the entrance by the door for your convenience.
Keeping in touch with staff via the Brightwheel app for
updates, absences, and important announcements.
Informing the center of any allergies, illnesses, or special
needs and keeping emergency contact information updated.
We believe parents are the most significant adults in a child’s life. We are so glad you chose our center to have your children enrolled in, we will strive to create mutual respect and encourage daily communication between the parents and teachers creating a partnership that will benefit the child.
Child Growth & Development- LOHBA provides families with opportunities to better understand the child’s growth & development by: Parent teacher
conferences are available at least 4 times a year and at the request of the
parents, Posting on the white board in the front door, posting Parent
Resources within the community, written communication such as articles,
handouts, newsletters, etc. that are given out to parents a minimum of 4
times a year, Parents are referred to other professionals and local community resources when needed.
Each classroom will have a Parent Information Board. This board will have important information (ex: menu, calendar, schedule, etc) A monthly newsletter, calendar, and menu will be sent home at the beginning of each month.
Treating staff and other families with kindness and
following all policies outlined in the handbook.
All staff members are available for scheduled conferences whenever the parent feels a need. DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL. The teachers would like to have conferences with the parents at least 2 times a year- December and May. This can be in person or by phone. The teacher may request a
conference when they feel they need your help. However, we discourage
“Door Conferences”. The teacher’s attention needs to be devoted to the
children at the arrival and dismissal times. The director’s door is always open to parents to talk about matters large or small. Twice a year, we will add a Parent Satisfaction Survey to our closed Facebook Page. Please take time to fill it out. The surveys help us to serve you better.
Attending parent meetings, conferences, and family
events to stay involved in their child’s education.
Paying tuition on time, following center policies, and
notifying the administration of any changes or withdrawals.
Working with teachers to reinforce positive behavior and
supporting any behavior plans if needed.
